PRD-PRO is a group of initiatives aimed at accelerating professional practices in dispute prevention and resolution.

We mobilize knowledge developed in cutting-edge research to adapt them to the needs of professional  environments  in law and in public and private organizations at national and international levels.

Our professional activities

University education

We are involved in education and research within the Master in Prevention and Resolution of Disputes of the Faculty of Law of the uNiversity of Sherbrooke. This multidisciplinary program exists since 1999 and more that 600 students graduated. The program plays a leading role in the francophone world.

Professional training

We participate in the creation and in the training organized by the University Center for Continuing Education in the faculty of Law of the University of Sherbrooke. curriculum in the field of Disputes Prevention and Resolution. Our trainings are aimed at optimizing professional practices. In 5 years, more than 300 participants from the public and the para-public were trained in the practice of mediation and arbitration.

Conferences to optimize practices

Our team offers conferences to increase awareness and development of professional skills related to participatory justice and the practice of negotiation, mediation, arbitration and other modes for dispute prevention and resolution. In the past, we worked with law firms, legal associations, Quebec judiciary, Quebec government, community organizations  and non-profit  related to mediation, etc… Our subject of intervention are diversified and evolving. Our conferences bring into action the art and science developed in research.

International Collaborations 

Our expertise lies in collaboration with several organizations working nationally and internationally. Our participation sometimes takes the form of university teaching, professional training, expert consultancy or even practical interventions. Over the past decade, we worked to the development of dispute prevention and resolution mechanisms, including with the following organizations : Institut de formation à la médiation et à la négociation (IFOMENE) from the Institut Catholique de Paris, Institut de recherche sur la négociation (IRENE) from the ESSEC Business School, Institut national de la magistrature du Canada (INM), l’École Nationale de la Magistrature de France (ENM) International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank, etc.
